About Me

Graydon Samuelson is a sound designer with a Bachelors of Science in Music Technology from the University of Oregon. His passion for video games, audio and his continuous drive to learn and grow as a sound designer led him to collaborate with teams of developers from around the globe by developing games in game jams.  Some of these jams include the Global Game Jam 2023, IPS 3rd Game Jam 2023, Github Game Off Game Jam 2023, and more...

By participating in these game jams, Gray has gotten hands on experience designing audio assets, field recording, creating audio and music systems in FMOD and Wwise, and implementing audio into game engines Unity and Unreal Engine. In addition, Gray has learned how to collaborate with developers using version control software Github, and is familiar with building projects following the SCRUM project management framework.

In his years of freelance mixing, mastering and production work Gray has gained experience using industry standard plugins includuing Waves, Izotope, Soundtoys and more...

When he's not obsessing over interactive audio, you can find Gray outside snowboarding, paddle boarding, hiking, recording sounds in nature or at your nearest local coffee shop.  He is also a self proclaimed cat lover, coffee enthusiast, home chef and dog walker extrordinarre. GitHub Game Off 2023 Game Jam

Designed all audio systems and music systems for a card based strategy game titled "Scale the Fish."  Recorded, designed and mixed all audio assets implementing them into Unity using FMOD and C#.  Used Trello and Github to collaborate with team of developers from around the world securing 19th place out of 600+ submissions.  Play it here: https://gingaabread.itch.io/scale-the-fish

IPS Game Jam 2023

Utilized Git, Unity and FMOD to collaborate with a small team of developers to create a game titled 'Party Pandemonium.' Designed all sound effects and created audio and music systems within FMOD to implement into Unity.  You can check it out here: https://ballardi.itch.io/party-pandemonium

Github Game Off 2022 Game Jam

Collaborated with team of 13 developers from around the world to build game in 30 days utilizing Git and Github.  Designed all audio assets and implemented sfx and music into Unity using FMod. Our submission received 14th place for best audio out of 558 total submissions. Feel free to play and listen for yourself!

Shooter Game Demo Redesign and Implementation

Stripped UE4's Shooter Game demo of all audio and audio systems and replaced them with my own utilizing Wwise and UE's Blueprint system.  Designed and implemented footstep physics system, weapons and one shot systems, and ambiance and reverb zones. Field Recording

Constantly recording, processing and organizing sounds to build my own personal sound library following UCS naming conventions.  Recently, spent a weekend on the Oregon coast recording a variety of sounds during the kings tides.  Donated the library to fellow game audio designers which was downloaded by over 500 sound designers!
